The PT BBC 180mm adapter allows you to run a front 180mm disc rotor on your 160/140mm flat mount fork (as per the Shimano standard).

The aim here is to increase the thermal headroom of your disc, pads, and caliper pistons if you are a heavier rider trying to dissipate large energies in hilly and prolonged fast braking situations. This will increase the lifespan of the pads and discs. A secondary although lesser benefit is an increase in peak braking force. However, if you brake with the same deceleration as a 160mm disc then the braking force will be the same!

Made from 7075-T6 Aluminium, with all hardware included.

Note: Your existing fork caliper mounts must closely follow the Shimano specification of the 70mm hole position tolerance. As there is little wiggle room for the counterbored mounting fasteners, please check your fork is well made, faced and accurate before ordering. Please check the disc clearance and fork mounting tab clearance illustrations below.

Note 2: The peak braking force will increase by at least 12.5% over a 160mm disc. The increase in braking force is given by the larger disc diameter and reduction in temperatures at the pad. The small increase in braking force should be well within the bicycle's design safety factor but the use of this adaptor is at the user's own risk. It may not be validated by the user's fork, frame, or wheel manufacturer. Any damage, injury or death incurred arising from such use will not result in any liability incurred by Peak Torque.

Note 3: You must use the fasteners provided so as to not interfere with the fork, and it is recommended to use a low strength thread locker (e.g. Loctite 222) on all fasteners.

Great for stopping a Clydesdale!

Recently installed the adapter plus new rotor and pads. After bedding in, my gravel bike stops so much better now. If you're a larger rider, you need this.

Great product

Just installed these 180mm adapters tonight. Easy to install. After seating in my new rotors this upgrade gives me more stopping power which was just what I was looking for. Put these on a Marin Gestalt X.

Looks and feels like an original part. Easy install and does the job wonderfully.

Great Product a bit finicky to set up - Niner RLT 9 Steel

Product came in quickly and had good tracking. The extra spacer over a longer (180mm) disc distance made the setup a bit tricky, but it's done. The extra braking power is noticeable but not "grabby." I think this was a great upgrade for some long, steep, twisty Ozark, AR (USA) descents.

Fits perfect to my MAI VERSA carbon gravel bike

I'm surprised that it is quite hard to find such adapters.
So, the overall cost for mooving from 160mm to 180mm even on front wheel only is very high.
Installation is not a straight forward, especially with my semi-hydraulic brakes - hard to access some screws to tighten them, but doable at the end.
Can I feel the difference between 160mm and 180mm? No, not in flatten landscape. But looks nice ))
